“What doesn’t kill you makes you more miserable…”
A melancholic, melodramatic satire of the modern condition, Synchronesia will both delight, amuse, and depress you.

Synchronesia: A Depressing Existential Novel is my first novel (next one in progress) and was written whilst I was going through one of the most difficult periods of my life. It was basically an attempt for me to make sense of the changes I was going through (loss, coming of age, etc.) whilst expressing my creative impulse and exorcising some of my demons.
The novel is an experimental piece of transgressive fiction that follows a passive, unnamed protagonist as he seeks meaning in a meaningless situation. Unable to make sense of things, he begins to look for and follow ‘signs’ which leads him on an Odyssey of discovery and potential destruction.
As the blurb on the back says:
‘Synchronesia’ is an experimental satire about a melancholic and passive protagonist in a situation that demands great activity. It is a philosophical exploration of the differences between meaningless chance and potent coincidence.
A kind of dystopian Catcher in the Rye, the novel follows our unnamed protagonist as he saunters about a crumbling city looking for meaning, purpose, and the fabled ‘Big Man Upstairs’.
‘Synchronesia’ is a magically realistic portrait of the alienation of modern life and the quest for purpose in a world without anything to believe in but the constant promise of a panacea.
A melancholic, melodramatic satire of the modern condition, Synchronesia will both delight, amuse, and depress you.
